Romani Horse-Dealers

With the passing of time, one is less likely to see horse-drawn carriages, family caravans on the roads or to find traditional horse markets in Transylvania.

Only few horse markets exist today, and they are just like in the old days. The horse dealers continue to play the same tricks: they make the wild horses drunk to calm them down, or they even paint the horse teeth white (the buyers can estimate the age and the condition of a horse by looking at the teeth).

Though the torture of horses is prohibited, police officers often ignore the law and enjoy the show.
